Dorsey Chambers joined us at our first CTLA meeting and provided a number of updates from the Department of Literacy: Libraries.
There are many wonderful professional development opportunities scheduled throughout the year by the CPS Department of Literacy: Libraries. Check the DLIS calendar for up-to-date information and remember to sign up in CPSU!
Fellow CPS librarians shared a wealth of information during the Spread the Word Librarian Back to School Professional Development Event held on August 28, 2014. Check the event page for resources, presentation slides, and handouts.
For librarians seeking a teacher-librarian position, send your resume to Lisa Perez to be included in a file sent to interested principals. Check the Wiki for schools seeking a teacher-librarian.
The meeting concluded with many librarians sharing lessons or research projects during the Hispanic Heritage Month idea exchange led by our President Laura Gaytán. Everyone left the meeting with a raffle prize provided by June Andalcio.
