Our October meeting was hosted by Follett Library Resources.

Our November meeting was hosted by Kori Kubitz (standing) and Jo Ann Flournoy (seated at right), Direct Pub. Reps. for Capstone Press and others, including Rosen. Below is Carnivale's delicious buffet and, below left, Dr. Gail Bush (standing) and Dr. Junko Yokota (seated at left) highlight NLU's new Center.
Our December meeting was hosted by Perma-Bound at the Parthenon Restaurant in Greektown. Rep. Ione Graves (above) greets members while her associate Turk Glazebrook (left) hands out goodies to all. Above left is Marge Fashing, our beloved historian, giving her monthly history moment.

Our January meeting was hosted by Children's Plus, Inc. at Maggiano's Restaurant. We were all treated to a four-course luncheon and each received three of Jacqueline Woodson's books, including her new 2007 release Feathers.

Our March meeting was hosted by Viki Noe Chikow from Usborne Books at Maggiano's Restaurant and their Corner Bakery. At left is Toby Rajput, Area Librarian, who gave us news and info. from the Department-- in addition, she discussed poetry for our "Idea Exchange" on Creative Ideas for Reading of Poetry.

Our April meeting was hosted by Trina Martinez and Deborah Greene from Santillana Books at DoubleTree (Hilton) in Oak Brook. Above, Trini, National Marketing Manager, welcomes everyone and states how Santillana is very pleased to be a CPS approved source vendor. Behind Trina, there are many sample books, which were all given away signed by Isabel Campoy. At left is Isabel, who shared the development and purpose of many of her and Alma Flor Ada's books. (Alma was ill and absent.) Below is Deborah Greene, regional sales manager, Trina, Isabel, Irish Bain, and Mary Hebda.

Our final May meeting was our luncheon and retirement celebration at Marcello's hosted by Dan Dunham and Scholastic Library Publishing. At left are the retirees along with "retiring" President Irish Bain. Above, Marge Fashing reads a tribute from Paul Whitsitt to the retirees and especially to the two Area Librarians. Far above, our new President Mary Hebda takes the lead and presents certificates to each retiree on behalf of the CTLA membership.
